Intro 00:55
I've been taught to hold onto what matters Skip the chase of status, do what you love I've been keeping myself up late at night What if what matters doesn't matter enough? I've been taught to hold onto what matters Skip the chase of status, do what you love I've been keeping myself up late at night What if what matters doesn't matter enough? I hope what matters to us can be enough

More To Say 04:32
We’re not holding up the day Sharp kids are always on their way Do you have a minute more to stay? Cause I have so much more to say Or scream We’re not wasting all our time Past luck and holding out for signs Do you have a minute more to stay? Cause I have so much more to say Or scream We’re not waiting We’re not fading away From here
3.
Let it out When it’s long past the last take And the cast’s not in your way When did it become the point to just act? Act it out Cause it’s hard to let it go Yeah it’s fake but it’s your show And no one can guarantee new success They weren’t there to hold you down when you were younger Take back every summer song that swept you up and get out You’ll give it one more day; the day will end You’ll get out You’ll get out Bring your doubts When your doubts aren’t what you bring To the foreground of the scene And the extra in the back knows the truth Truth is out There’s much more that you could bring To the stage and to the screen But the script this week is not flexible Give it one more day For now you’re held up in your room And you’ll be weighing your guilt vs. love Cause you do not know what to do
4.
Amherst 05:17
If I leave this place, it’s not to leave you Please don’t fall apart, cause the honest truth Is it won’t be now but it might be soon I collect regret till I plant my shoes In this city’s streets and feel so renewed But I ask myself “will it last me?” Off and on with all the simple values Off and on, it’s more than simple values you choose I don’t know if this is right, but I know who’s on my side I don’t know if this is right for me past the context of this night I get caught up in thinking of last year Of the autumn leaves in the Amherst air Can they pick me up and take me back there? I collect regret till I plant my shoes In this city’s streets and feel so renewed But I ask myself “will it last me?” Off and on with all the simple values Off and on, it’s more than simple values you choose
5.
Cheering 04:16
Break on through It’s been a long day in old shoes Start again Even the long days have to end And every time you want it to bend It just looks you in the face and convinces you to spend All your time to hanging around Now I’m cheering for you like you’re cheering for me Break on through I’d say a new year’s overdue Start again Either a new year or back then But after all the effort you spend You won’t have to look for me, you won’t have to look for friends All our solid ones stick around They’ll be cheering for you, they’ll be cheering for me Just let your eyes turn Before you turn and run Put in the time first Then round the corner, run
